Le Catalogue de l‘exposition « Thorvaldsens Löwe und die Folgen für Tourismus und Kunst » (Le lion de Thorvaldsen et les conséquences pour tourisme et art) met en lumière l‘histoire du monument et le processus de sa création a l‘occasion de son bicentenaire. D‘autre part la réception sera suivi jusqu‘au 21ème siècle, tant sur le plan touristique et artistique.

The motif of the mountain runs continuously through the work of Hans Erni, from early representational paintings from the 1940s to the work of the late years of his life. Reason enough to dedicate an exhibition to the representation of mountains in the Hans Erni Museum. It spans the arc from the increasing exploration of the mountains in the 18th century to the development of tourism in the 19th century and the growing threat in the 20th and 21st centuries; with works by Cuno Amiet, Giorgio Avanti, August Babberger, Flurina Badel and Jérémie Sarbach, Hansjürg Buchmeier, Ruth Buck, Domenico Campagnola, Heinrich Danioth, Hans Erni, Michel Grillet, Ferdinand Hodler, Christopher Lehmpfuhl, Alois Lichtsteiner, Hiroyuki Masuyama, Albert Merz, Bruno Müller-Meyer, Leta Peer, Boris Rebetez, Patrick Rohner, Michel Roth, Stefan Rüesch, Jules Spinatsch, Andri Stadler, Reinhard Voigt, Andy Warhol, Caspar Wolf, Bernd Zimmer and others.

In 1977/78, Hans Erni created the monumental mural "Panta rhei" (Everything flows!), in which he assembled the figures of thinkers and scientists who, in his opinion, had given European intellectual history a new turn.
